Now I don’t know about you, but I really am NOT a fan of ironing. It is just one of those things, I ahem, don’t do… unless there is a craft involved (like our Pillow Case Dresses and iron makes it MUCH easier to sew).
I am not sure exactly why I am like this… maybe it is the memories of being 12 years old, shackled to my step mother’s ironing board (I kid you not, ok maybe not the shackles… but the rest is true) and told to iron this HUGE pile of ironing. And we are talking mid to late eighties. No fancy irons for you there. Just your bog standard iron. And a massive pile. And then my wicked stepmother (I really hope she isn’t reading this) coming to inspect her work blouses and rejecting them as not good enough. Well, there you have it. My childhood traumas exposed. Ha. Maybe life would have been easier if we had had one of these super duper irons (gosh, how much easier sheets would have been too?!).
But in the meantime, I leave all the ironing of shirts if left to my husband – well.. which is mainly HIS work shirts. The rest of our washing is crumpled. I know HE will be VERY interested in reading all about the New Tefal Steam Iron!
I do I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video for Tefal showing you how you “best iron your shirt”. My beady eye spotted that they actually do quite a good job of it AND ………. it is a “him” doing. Bit of a giggle and perfect for our household. Go check it out.
And whilst you are at, did you know that you could win your very own steam generator. All you have to do, is visit the offical Tefal Facebook page and describe your mum’s ironing style.
You can find out more about the iron on the Tefal website or connect with them on Twitter.
